MEASURE BEFORE YOU DESIGN

How to measure your wrist for a bracelet.

A precise wrist measurement gives the studio a better starting point for evaluating the inner space of your finished bead arrangement.

THREE SIMPLE STEPS

Use a flexible tape—or a strip of paper.

  1. 01

    Wrap at the wrist bone

Place a flexible tape around the point where you expect to wear the bracelet. Keep it flat against the skin without pulling tightly.

  2. 02

    Mark the meeting point

If using paper or non-stretch string, mark where the ends overlap, then lay it flat against a ruler.

  3. 03

    Record the wrist size

Enter the measured circumference—not an existing bracelet length—into the studio in centimeters.

CHOOSE HOW IT FEELS

Wrist size and bracelet size are not the same.

Beads occupy space on the inside of a bracelet. Larger beads generally need more finished circumference than smaller beads to create the same inner fit, which is why the studio evaluates the actual materials in your design.

PreferenceGeneral allowanceFeel
SnugAbout 0.5 cmClose to the wrist
ComfortableAbout 1–1.5 cmEasy everyday movement
LooseAbout 1.5–2 cmMore movement on the wrist

These allowances are general starting points. Bead diameter, shape, arrangement, and personal preference can change the finished fit.

Measure more than once

Repeat the measurement two or three times and use the consistent result.

Do not measure another bracelet

Its construction and inner diameter may differ from the design you are creating.

Use centimeters

The YMORL studio accepts wrist measurements in centimeters, including half-centimeter steps.
